Announcement for Incoming First Semester International Students

The study process at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been affected by the serious spread of COVID-19 in Latvia, the related health risks and the restrictions that have been imposed by the Latvian government.

This decision taken by RSU is in line with Article 27.2.6 order No. 360 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia - Epidemiological Safety Measures for the Containment of the Spread of COVID-19 Infection. 

If you are a first semester student, please do not plan to arrive in Latvia in time for the beginning of your studies, or during the first semester. If you have already booked airline or ferry tickets, please cancel them.

If, at a later stage, a blended study process becomes possible, testing for COVID-19 before commencing studies will be compulsory and students will be required to observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with the regulations in force at that time.

RSU encourages students to consider and take the COVID-19 vaccine if it is available to them. This would have a positive effect on both the study process and on students’ ability to access studies at the clinical base units.

Remote studies will continue for later study courses at RSU, and RSU will take care of maintaining their efficiency and students' progress from one semester to the next.
