CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup: RSU/MSĢ volleyball players ready to put their best foot forward
RSU/MSĢ is the strongest women's volleyball team in Latvia and the Baltics and includes six players from the Latvian national team. The team is taking a step towards Europe by applying to play in the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup.
RSU/MSĢ lost their first match of the CEV Challenge Cup against AEK Athens (Greece) in an exciting and emotional match (1:3). On Wednesday, 16 October at 19.00, Latvian volleyball fans and sports fans will have a great opportunity to enjoy the next first-round match at the RIMI Olympic Centre, where RSU/MSĢ volleyball players will seek revenge.
AEK Athens finished third in the Greek League last season and won the Greek Cup two years ago. The visiting team includes Japanese national team setter Aki Momii, the top blocker and 188 cm tall Czech Extraliga attacker Veronika Trnková. Serbian Sara Sakradžija, the best attacker in the Kazakhstan Cup, and American Zoe Weatherington, the top scorer in the Puerto Rican league, will also be in the line-up.
