For Students

The elections for the new board of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Student Association (ISA) took place on 10 November. The elections were held online this year.

Mohamed Naleef Ahamed Mazhar (pictured), a 5th-year medicine student, was re-elected as the President of RSU ISA for 2022. This will be his third year on the RSU ISA Board having previously been the President in 2021 and the Liaison Officer in 2020.

'My priority this year will be to advance a culture of mutual respect between the international students and RSU. The community of international students studying at RSU is so spread out geographically at the moment that it's important to remember that there are real people behind the screens on both sides. The university needs to be flexible and sensitive to international students' needs, and the students in turn need to remember to respect the university's structures and procedures.'
