RSU Alumni Association elects new board
The Extraordinary General Meeting of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Alumni Association was held on 4 March 2025. The meeting aimed to review the events of the past year, discuss key developments in the lives of RSU graduates, and elect a new board.
The General Meeting began with a report on the association’s achievements over the past eight years, presented by Dins Šmits, President of the Alumni Association Board, and Paula Jumīte, Executive Director.

Dins Šmits, who has served as a board member for eight years and later assumed the role of president, said: ‘Looking back on the past years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with several executive directors. Artūrs Kaļva was one of them, and together we began the development of the Alumni Association. After that, Paula Jumīte continued our work, bringing new ideas to the table.’ Jumīte currently holds the position of executive director for the third consecutive year and will continue her efforts alongside the newly elected Board to support the initiatives of the Alumni Association and strengthen the alumni community.
RSU Rector Aigars Pētersons also addressed the audience and emphasised the importance of the RSU Alumni Association to the University, highlighting the need to strengthen the connection between the University, the Alumni Association, and graduates.

This General Meeting was special because a new Board of the RSU Alumni Association was elected. Two key areas were highlighted for development in the coming years to foster growth and add value to the Association: attracting a larger number of international and social sciences graduates and engaging international students.
The members of the Association present voted in favour of the composition of the Board for the next term, which includes Liene Ņikitina-Zaķe, Artūrs Kaļva, Lecturer Ruta Siliņa, Prof. Haralds Plaudis, Egita Pole, Ieva Šlēziņa, and Prof. Ilze Konrāde.
