From 17 to 21 June, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host the annual summer school Data Analysis, Modelling, and Simulations in Healthcare. The event is being organised within the framework of the Health Management master’s study programme at the RSU Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS).

The sessions will be led by long-standing RSU collaborators and distinguished experts in the summer school’s topics: Prof. Sebastian Rachuba from the University of Twente (Netherlands), RSU Visiting Prof. Olav Götz from Apollon University of Applied Sciences (Bremen, Germany), as well as RSU Assoc. Prof. Daiga Behmane, FSS Health Management Programme Group Leader.

Participants will engage in both theoretical and practical sessions, learning about modelling and simulations in the management of healthcare processes, the steps of conducting simulation studies, data analysis, verification and validation of simulation models, and modelling of baseline scenarios and management experiments.

The widely known world café discussion method will be used at the sessions. Discussions take place at several tables and each participant takes an active part in discussing the proposed issues.

The summer school has become an annual tradition, bringing together researchers, industry experts, lecturers, and students. During this event, participants gain practical knowledge of economic analysis methods and how to apply them in managing processes within the healthcare sector.
