On 22 November, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Social Sciences will host the first national scientific and practical law conference LEX SCRIPTA. The conference will take place at 9C Kuldīgas iela, Riga, and will be an excellent opportunity for law experts, professionals, researchers and students to come together for academic discussions and knowledge exchange.

szf_konference_lex_scripta_ielugums-lead.jpgNovember is the national holiday month in Latvia, highlighting the value of legal independence and freedom. The conference will be attended by distinguished experts in the field like Lauma Paegļkalna, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Latvia, who will present a paper on promoting gender equality, while Gunda Reire, Head of the Chancery of the President of Latvia and an assistant professor at the RSU Faculty of Social Sciences, will speak on the importance of the international legal order. Prof. Sandra Kaija from the RSU Faculty of Social Sciences and Senator of the Supreme Court, will focus on the problems of recovery of procedural costs in criminal proceedings. In addition to these speakers, the conference will also feature many other highly qualified legal professionals who will share their experience and research in various fields of law, providing valuable insights into the development of the legal system.

The conference will analyse a range of topical issues such as promoting gender equality, the role of international legal orders, the challenges of medical regulation and the use of copyright in education. The conference will also focus on digital transformation, discussing the employment of medical practitioners on digital platforms and solutions to combat racist and xenophobic crimes online.

The conference will provide an opportunity not only to gain valuable academic insights, but also to stimulate discussions on the future development of Latvian law and its role in the well-being of society.

In addition to the academic discussions, the participants will have the opportunity to take part at the book launch event by Dr. iur. Ivars Kronis Dzīvojamo telpu īres tiesības: no teorijas līdz praksei (Residential Tenancy Rights: from Theory to Practice). The book presentation will be an important event in the conference programme, providing an in-depth insight into this topical area of law.

The RSU Faculty of Social Sciences invites all interested persons to take the opportunity to participate and share their experience on the most topical issues in law.
