The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Student Association (ISA) is holding its 2023 General Election from 26 – 28 October. The deadline to run for any of the board positions is 15 October (23:59). 

ISA plays an important role in fostering a sense of community among and offering academic and personal support to international students studying at the University. It is crucial for students to actively participate in shaping the future of the vibrant international community at RSU. 

    Election Process

    15 October (23:59) - Application

    Interested students must fill out an application form, submit a CV and a letter of motivation.

    26 October (18:00) - Presentations

    Candidates will have the opportunity to present themselves in a 3-minute-long speech (5 minutes for the President and Vice President positions) in Auditorium 1. Each presentation will be followed by a 3-minute Q&A. This event is open to all RSU students. 

    26 - 28 October - Voting

    All candidates’ CVs, motivation letters, pictures, speeches and Q&As will be made public on the ISA Sharepoint website. Voting will take place from 22:00 on 26 October until 23:59 on 28 October. An email will be sent to all RSU students with a voting link that will be open for 3 days. 

    29 October (12:00 noon) - Results

    The official results will be announced on ISA’s social media platforms and via email.

    Positions

    There are 12 different positions on the board that students can apply for. One candidate can apply for more than one position but can only get elected for one. Descriptions of each position are listed on the ISA Sharepoint website

    The following positions are open for the 2024 ISA Board: 

    • President
    • Vice President
    • Treasurer
    • Head of Academic Affairs
    • Assistant to the Head of Academic Affairs
    • Public Relations Officer
    • Internal Collaborations & Human Resources Officer
    • Medical Science Director
    • Assistant to the Medical Science Director
    • Liaison Officer
    • Head of Integration and Sports
    • Assistant to the Head of Integration and Sports

    Eligibility

    To be eligible to run for a position on the ISA Board, applicants must fulfil the following criteria: 

    • Have an active student status throughout the term (calendar year 2024) and 
    • be enrolled under the International Student Department, 
    • or the Erasmus office. 

    We encourage all eligible students to actively participate actively in this democratic process. Your voice matters and your choice will influence the future of the international student community at RSU.
