For Students

The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department has developed a new Welcome Guide for international students in cooperation with the RSU International Student Association (ISA). This guide offers students everything they need to know about RSU and life in Riga.

The Welcome Guide is designed to assist students when they begin their studies in Riga and with daily life in a new country. It contains answers to questions related to the study process, both regarding the beginning of studies at RSU, as well as information on topics like places to study, evaluation methods and grading, academic appeals, absence because of illness, libraries, research opportunities etc. The Welcome Guide has information on different ways to be active and get involved in student life at the University describing the vibrant RSU community and the diverse national, academic, and sports associations.

And of course, the Welcome Guide will have information on culture and entertainment, nightlife, fitness and healthcare so that students can get to know their new city. Additionally, the guide contains lists of emergency phone numbers, contacts of embassies and consulates in Riga along with information on annual immigration procedures and students’ rights etc. Last but not least, there are some basic phrases in Latvian that students can learn to make them feel more at home both at the University and in Riga.
