RSU dentistry student achieves success in international competition
As part of their clinical studies, RSU Faculty of Dentistry students are offered the opportunity to take part in championships organised by dental product manufacturers, where students are given the opportunity to improve their professional skills in tooth restoration, gain experience in clinical work with new materials and win valuable awards.
Last year in the championship on aesthetic dental restoration, organised by the firm Micerium, in the final of the Jules Allemand Trophy in Italy titled Anatomic and Chromatic Restoration of Natural Tooth Following Five Dimensions of Colour, our nation and our university were represented by fourth year student in the study programme Dentistry Dāvis Rūdolfs Zaķis (on left in the photo), accompanied by Dr. Darja Ķīse, lecturer at the Department of Dental Therapy and Oral Health.
D.R. Zaķis had a convincing win in the Dentists of the Future restoration elimination round in Latvia, organised by 3M. At the beginning of September he went to Germany where he gave a successful presentation and analysis of a clinical case. This year, D.R. Zaķis won third prize, competing against 20 participants from other European countries.
