Open call for the project “Support for the involvement of doctoral students in scientific research and study work”

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) announces an open call for the selection of doctoral student applications for the specific objective “Strengthen the academic staff of higher education institutions in the areas of strategic socialisation” (project No. 8.2.2.0/20/I/004) of the Growth and Employment operational programme.

Goal: The goal of the project is to ensure closer links between doctoral studies and research as well as to strengthen the internationally open environment in higher education institutions. This will be achieved by promoting closer links between doctoral study programmes, research and academic work, thereby contributing to doctoral students' obtaining a doctoral degree at the most optimal time and starting an academic career.

Requirements

1. Full-time or part-time doctoral students in accredited doctoral study programmes at RSU, with a scholarship, or in a study place funded by private or legal entities.
2. Applicants for the academic degree who have successfully completed the theoretical part of RSU doctoral study programme but have not yet defended the doctoral thesis, and who may prepare the doctoral thesis for submission to the Promotion Council for public defence within 12 months.

Regulations for the selection of project doctoral grant recipients (in Latvian)

Documents

• Application (Annex No.1 to the Regulations for the Selection of Grant Recipients);
• Detailed work plan for 12 months (Annex No.2 to the Regulations for the Selection of Grant Recipients);
• CV;
• Copies of the supporting documents indicated in the table of evaluation criteria (Annex No.3 to the Regulations for the Selection of Grant Recipients);
• List of scientific publications.

Submission

• Applications shall be signed with a secure electronic signature with the indication “Application for the doctoral grant selection competition” and sent to an e-mail of Santa Bartuševiča santa[pnkts]bartusevicarsu[pnkts]lv,Project Administration Manager;
• on-site at RSU, Development and Project Department, 5 Dārza iela, by coordinating the date and time of application submission with the Project Administration Manager by e-mail.
