Accreditation experts assess the Internal Security and Civil Protection study field

On 26-27 September, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted a group of Latvian and international accreditation experts who assessed the Internal Security and Civil Protection study field. The group of accreditation experts included representatives from Canterbury Christ Church University (UK), Tartu Vocational College (Estonia), BA School of Business and Finance (Latvia), the Employers' Confederation of Latvia, the Student Union of Latvia, and the Quality Agency for Higher Education.

VIRCAN2024 conference

Viruses are very small organisms. They are made up of DNA or RNA genomes surrounded by a protein coat (capsid) and often also outer membrane. Some of them are known to cause cancer and raised awareness and increased research could save lives.

Researchers from RSU are therefore organising an international online conference “Chronic viral infections and cancer, openings for vaccines and cure” VIRCAN2024, which will be held on 21-22 November 2024. 

RSU METC promotes initiative on simulation-based medical and healthcare education development strategy in Latvia

From 16 to 20 September, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education Technology Centre (METC) hosted the international simulation week SimWeek 2024. During the event, a working group meeting was held on 20 September at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia, where members discussed a simulation-based strategy for medical and healthcare education in Latvia (2025-2027).

167 residents at Rīga Stradiņš University received doctors' qualifications

The graduation ceremony for residents took place in the Great Hall of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) at 16 Dzirciema iela, Riga on Friday, 27 September. This year, 167 residents graduated from the Faculty of Residency. Neurologists, ophthalmologists, general practitioners, and other doctors from 49 different specialties will begin their journey into the world of healthcare. The graduates were congratulated in person by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Artjoms Uršuļskis, University officials, family, and friends.
