The elections for the new board of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Student Association (ISA) took place on 26 – 28 October this year.
Bárbara N. Silva was elected as the President of the RSU ISA in 2024. She was previously the association's Head of Academic Affairs.
On Thursday, 30 November, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) organised its traditional Health Day for the tenth time. Staff and students had the opportunity to give blood and get their health tested by students representing different academic interest groups.
69 students and employees gave blood (up from 54 last year), of which 49 were first-time donors (an increase from last year’s 21). The State Blood Donor Centre was pleased with the increase in the number of first-time donors as it ensures continuity of the movement.
Pāvels Dimitrijevs will defend his doctoral dissertation on 15 January at 14:00 in an open meeting of the RSU degree committee of Basic Sciences of Medicine, including Pharmacy. His dissertation is titled 'Targeting cancer metabolism with isoselenazolium salts'.

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is introducing a new Students-Ambassadors Scholarship Programme for its international medical and dentistry students in December 2024. The aim of the scholarship programme is to promote the medical and dentistry study programmes abroad and to attract new international students to the University.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) staff and students are invited to the Christmas concert programme Think of Me For a Moment... (Vēl mirkli padomā par mani…) by Uldis Marhilevičs and Dita Lūriņa on 20 December at 15.00 in the Great Hall.
As Christmas is approaching, composer Uldis Marhilevičs and actress Dita Lūriņa from the Latvian National Theatre have prepared a special concert programme. Describing the programme, Marhilevičs says,

Dr. Ulvi Gürsoy will be holding a lecture themed 'How to present your findings: Art of communication' at RSU.
Dr Caspar Wohlfahrt will be holding a lecture themed 'Preventive dentistry and implant health - what have we learned and where do we stand?' at RSU.
The Rīga Stradiņš University's (RSU) traditional Health Day will take place on Thursday, 30 November, from 10.00 to 14.00, at 16 Dzirciema iela. Staff and students will have the opportunity to donate blood and undergo simple health tests with students from a variety of interest groups.
On 21 November this year, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Convent of Councillors held a meeting. The agenda included electing a chair and vice-chair, as well as hearing a report by RSU Vice-Rector for Administration and Development Toms Baumanis on international student enrolment at the University, which included the economic impact, enrolment practices, and future strategic directions.
