The Sports Healthcare Research Centre (SHRC) is a scientific and academic unit of RSU LASE. It offers internationally recognised, high-quality programmes for students, promotes innovative research in sports science and healthcare, and integrates these developments into a modern curriculum. The SHRC also plays a key role in training skilled and competitive professionals in the sports and healthcare sector.

Tasks

To ensure the quality of studies in STEM study programmes in the field of health and sports health care, to organise and advise students at all levels on the experimental part of their scientific research work, to cooperate with academic staff of study programmes.

The SHRC laboratory has been operational since 4 September 2020. It was established with the support of European Union funds to modernise STEM study programmes at RSU LASE (Project No. 8.1.1.0/17/I/013). 

Research areas

  • Children and youth sports, amateur sports, and high-performance sports;
  • Trauma and rehabilitation in sports;
  • Kinesiology, movement and physical biomechanics, motor control;
  • Functional capabilities of individuals across different ages, health statuses, and physical fitness levels;
  • Physical activity for individuals with functional impairments;
  • Paedagogy, recreation, sports psychology, and management.

For students

  • Information about available laboratory equipment can be requested by emailing the laboratory: vasiclabatrsu[pnkts]lv;
  • To apply for measurements, please fill in the form (must include the signature of the supervisor, attach a copy of the RSU Ethics Committee's statement);
  • Send the completed request form along with the Ethics Committee's statement to the laboratory’s email address: vasiclabatrsu[pnkts]lv.

Laboratorijas aparatūra un ierīces

The Research Centre laboratory has been operational since 4 September 2020. The laboratory was created with the help of EU funds with the aim to modernise STEM study programmes at RSU LASE (project No 8.1.1.0/17/I/013).
