To promote the creation and use of innovations in higher education, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) continues its collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and its educational laboratory J-WEL (Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab). The lab is an initiative to enhance collaboration with world universities and other international partners and promote excellence and transformation in education globally.

Jurijs Nazarovs will defend his doctoral dissertation on 20 December at 15:00 in an open meeting of the RSU Psychology Degree Committee online. His dissertation is titled 'Morphological and Immunohistochemical Prognostic Factors of Multiple Myeloma and their Correlation with Clinical and Laboratory Indicators of Morbidity'.

The elections for the next rector of Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) will take place at the University’s next Constitutional Assembly on Wednesday, 23 November. This will be the first year that the elections are held according to the new procedures set out in the Law on Higher Education Institutions.

A discussion will be held on 24 November at 16:00 - 17:30 about the research of PhD-student Lena Herzberg (University of Bristol). The discussion will take place in Auditorium 1A in 16 Dzirciema iela. The title of her work is "How To Be Many: Understanding Difference and Disagreement Among Young Russian Speakers In Latvia. An Ethnographic Study".

At the end of the summer, staff and students at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) nominated candidates for the RSU Annual Award in nine categories. 42 candidates were nominated for the Administrative Employee of the Year award and after a university-wide vote, RSU management picked a winner from the three leading choices: Inguna Grebstele (pictured), Chief Records Manager at the Department of Document Management and Archives. Grebstele has worked at RSU since 2010.
