Rīga Stradiņš University Embarks on a Major Digital Transformation Journey

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is one of the first higher education institutions in the Baltic States to create its own digital transformation roadmap. This will help develop competences in digital technologies and their strategic use. It is planned that the objectives of the digital transformation roadmap will be completed between 2023 and 2027. As the result, RSU will improve its study, research, and governance processes by leveraging the opportunities that technologies offer.

International Conference on the Transmission and Treatment of HIV, Tuberculosis, and Viral Hepatitis will Be Held in Riga

The international scientific workshop EECA INTERACT will take place at the Bellevue Park Hotel in Riga on 13 and 14 December. The aim of the conference is to strengthen scientific capacity and transnational cooperation in controlling HIV, tuberculosis, and viral hepatitis. This year, its topic is “Science for Action on HIV, Tuberculosis and Viral Hepatitis in Eastern Europe and Central Asia”.

Aldis Lieljuksis

On 17 October 2022, the Chapter of Orders appointed Aldis Lieljuksis, Associate Professor at the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Law, as Commander of the Cross of Recognition. Assoc. Prof. Lieljuksis has been working at RSU since 1 September 2011.

‘My work at the Faculty of Law began after I finished my active service at the Ministry of the Interior. It should be noted that the University is where I have worked the longest, aside from my service,’ says Lieljuksis (pictured) at the beginning of the interview.

A Christmas concert for RSU staff and students will take place in the auditorium on 14 December 2022 at 15:00.

RSU Strengthens Cooperation with Sheba Medical Centre in Israel

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and the Sheba Medical Center signed a memorandum of understanding on 29 November during the Latvian-Israel Business Forum. The new memorandum will help strengthen collaboration between both institutions, which would benefit the students, academic staff, and researchers of both countries.

Prof. Maija Dambrova Receives Cabinet of Ministers Award

On 22 November, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš and ministers from various sectors presented six Cabinet of Ministers awards to prominent Latvian personalities and charitable organisations on behalf of the government. These were awarded to the recipients for the significant achievements they have made in developing the Latvian state in science, culture, and the public sphere.
