World Contraception Day is the 26 September every year, and reproductive health was mentioned many times at the Latvian Congress of Physicians and the Latvian Congress of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians. Within the framework of the EU Research and Innovation Programme Horizon 2020 project Reducing networking gaps between Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and internationally leading counterparts in viral infection-induced autoimmunity research (VirA) the RSU Institute of Microbiology and Virology will be holding a workshop Morphological studies in autoimmune disease research on 13–14 October 2022.

The next RSU Research Breakfast will be held on 5 October and it will feature a discussion about the possible ways to develop autoimmune disease research at Rīga Stradiņš University. An athlete isn’t just an active person who trains hard to achieve new records, but also an individual with unique health traits. ‘I am a sports physician, so I examine athletes on a daily basis and advise them on the most appropriate training load plan and examinations in order to prevent health problems from hindering them receiving high achievements,’ says RSU doctoral student and sports physician Sandra Rozenštoka. She defended her doctoral thesis on the relevance of exercise tolerance to the health status of athletes on 5 September.
The International Federation of Abortion and Contraception Professionals (FIAPAC) conference Fertility Control in the Hands of Women took place in Riga on 9 and 10 September.
