On 29 September, the project Factors and Actors Contributing to the Willingness to Defend One’s Own Country: the Case of Latvia, Lithuania and Taiwan will host an online discussion where project implementers from Latvia, Lithuania, and Taiwan will summarise and analyse the results of the research so far.
To strengthen the cooperation between the academic and private sectors in Latvia and Norway, as well as to promote an active lifestyle, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted the participants of a bike ride organised by the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (NCCL) on 14 September. Orientation Week for all new international students is organised by the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department (ID). This year, it was once again held in person and gathered more than 400 newly admitted students.
Shortly after the First World Congress of Latvian Physicians, doctors Kristaps and Bertrams Zariņš (USA) founded the non-profit organisation Latvian Medical Foundation (LMF) to support the field of medicine in Latvia. Latvian doctors and students have been able to apply for LMF scholarships for 30 years already. This year, LMF is also supporting young Latvian doctors, and the Zariņi Scholarship for medical study trips has been awarded to aspiring young students from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).
