On 29 August, eight Latvian higher education lecturers will travel to the USA and start their studies in the Buffalo Programme coordinated by Riga Business School as a unit of Riga Technical University (RTU) and funded by the European Union. After passing the competition, the lecturers will travel to the State University of New York at Buffalo (USA) to improve their digital skills and the quality of teaching information and communication technologies and learn the latest methods in preparing and delivering IT course content.
From 15 to 19 August, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) will host a summer school on "Modelling and Simulation in Health Care", organised in cooperation with two German universities – the APOLLON University for Health Care Management in Bremen, and the Schumpeter School of Business and Economics at Bergische Universität Wuppertal. The summer school will be held on RSU premises this year and will be attended by students from Latvia and abroad.
The 31st International Biometric Conference was held on 10-15 July in Riga, at the Radisson Blu Latvija Conference & Spa Hotel. The conference gathered 519 participants from 54 countries, among them 163 students. A total of 124 sessions were delivered during the event.
Latvian state scholarships will be granted to 34 international students from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) in the 2022/2023 academic year. The scholarship is granted by the State Education Development Agency (SEDA) of Latvia after a careful evaluation process. This is the largest number of recipients compared to other higher education institutions in Latvia. The University of Latvia comes in second with 23 international students receiving the scholarship.
The summer admissions period for undergraduate and master's programmes in Latvian at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has successfully come to an end. RSU has received a total of 7,973 applications, which is an increase of several percentage points compared to last year.
Dental therapy and oral health researchers from Latvia, Canada, and the US collaborated on a three-year long study to investigate the effects of MI Varnish which is a special coating made from a fluoride, calcium, and phosphate on caries and tooth decay prevention in 6-12-year-old children.
