Rector Speaks About Admissions Results, New RSU Branch in Germany, and Other Current Affairs in Interview on Latvian Television

The new academic year at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has started successfully - more than 2,400 first-year students have joined the university, including 422 international students from 35 countries.

The University’s Rector, Professor Aigars Pētersons, talks about the results of this summer’s admissions and the university's expansion outside Latvia with opening a branch of RSU in the German city of Stade, in addition to its existing clinical facilities, and other topical matters on the Latvian Television programme Rīta Panorāma.

RSU MITC Participates in International National Guard Exercise

On 26 and 27 August, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Education Technology Centre (MITC) participated in the international military exercise Zemessardzes patruļa 2022 (National Guard Patrol) organised by the Latvian National Guard. The MITC provided one checkpoint and conducted demonstrations using mannequins and simulation equipment.

11% More First-Year Students Enrol at RSU in 2022 than Last Year

More than 2,400 first-year students, out of whom 422 are international students, mostly from Sweden and Germany, joined Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) this autumn. The new academic year started on Monday, 29 August. This summer, 13% more local applicants expressed an interest in studying in an undergraduate programme at RSU than last year, with the number of applicants per scholarship reaching 20-30 in several programmes. Overall, 11% more first-year students are starting their undergraduate studies at RSU this year in comparison with last year.

EIT Health Announces Open Call for Health Innovation Projects

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology's Health Knowledge and Innovation Community (EIT Health) has announced the EIT Health RIS Innovation Call 2023. Its purpose is to fund the proof of concept phase of high-quality, strong, and balanced health care innovation projects.
