Marika Barone

Ms Marika Barone has been employed at the RSU International Department since June 2023. She is an alumna of the University of Latvia holding a Master of Humanities in Philology from the Faculty of Modern Languages (2002).

Ms Marika Barone has extensive experience in the field of international relations and cooperation in the Foreign Affairs Office of the City of Riga, both as a project coordinator and deputy head of division. She has managed the city's participation in international networks and events, conferences and seminars, as well as the planning and implementation  of various international projects and events in Riga and abroad. She has also worked as a project coordinator in the field of social integration of the City of Riga, coordinating municipal activities related to social integration, NGOs and volunteer work.

Fields of expertise/responsibilities:

• Managing and monitoring content and communication on RSU's English-language social media channels (Instagram, Facebook)
• Contributing to the planning and implementation of marketing activities targeting international audiences, including digital marketing initiatives
• Planning and coordinating integration events for international students at RSU, such as the bi-annual Welcome Week, Speed Friending Event etc.
• Marketing and representational materials for RSU’s international audiences, including those for international Educational fairs
• Assisting in hosting foreign delegations from partner universities and other institutions
• Preparing reports on international cooperation for ministries, embassies, and other relevant bodies
