From 16 September, the open-air large-scale exhibition Science Inspires! will be available to all in the square outisde the Origo shopping centre in central Riga. The exhibition tells the story of 50 scientists who are creative and inspiring personalities in modern Latvian science. Four researchers from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) were also included in the exhibition: Asst. Prof. Dr. iur. Karina Palkova, Asst. Prof. Dr. biol. Inese Čakstiņa-Dzērve, Assoc. Prof. Ivars Vanadziņš and Assoc. Prof. Arvīds Irmejs.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has started the new academic year with a great achievement by entering the prestigious university ranking Times Higher Education (THE) for the first time. RSU immediately rose to the top among Latvian higher education institutions and received the second-best result in the Baltic States. Continuing its success, RSU also entered the THE Clinical and Health Subject Ranking 2022 and placed 401-500th in the world.
98% of students from the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medicine study programme have been vaccinated against or have recovered from COVID-19. This means that it will be possible to ensure in person studies at RSU this fall, including at medical institutions. On-site studies at all RSU faculties will start on 11 October.

On 14 September, the Latvian Medical Association (LMA) congratulated the winner of the Professor Ilmārs Lazovskis Prize 2020 – the Head of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Infectology and Chair of the RSU Convent of Councillors, a prominent infectologist, academician, Professor Ludmila Vīksna. She is receiving the prize for her significant contribution to the development of medicine.
