On 19 May as part of the International Long Night of Museums, a unique opportunity was given to five lucky people – the chance to participate in a silent midnight excursion through the RSU Anatomy Museum.
Although the building of the museum at 9 Kronvalda bulvāris is under reconstruction and is closed to the general public, five persons were selected through a lottery, being given a unique opportunity to visit the museum in the middle of the night.
With the summer holiday season approaching, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Notary Assistant Inga Kudeikina advises on the documents needed when travelling abroad with children, minors travelling alone or together with a teacher, coach or grandmother.

Senior year medical students at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) just completed state examinations. This year, for the first time the State Examination Commission also consisted of German professors representing leading German clinics.
On Friday, 8 June at 10:00 Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and AS Pasažieru vilciens (Passenger train) are running RSU Veselības ekspresis (Health Express) on the train route Rīga–Sloka–Rīga, with focus on the risks of sun tanning.
The fourth OnBoard-Med (Harmonization of on Board Medical Treatment, Occupational Safety and Emergency Skills in Baltic Sea Shipping) project meeting was organised by the project’s lead partners - Turku University of Applied Sciences and Åland University of Applied Sciences in the Åland Islands from 22 - 25 May. The project has five partners, among them the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the RSU Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare.
On 19 May in a solemn award-giving ceremony, the Teodors Reiters Music Award was presented to the conductors of RSU mixed choir “Riga” - Zane Zilberte and Evita Taranda - for outstanding achievements in choral music in Latvia and abroad. A letter of recognition from the Teodors Reiters Foundation was also awarded to choirmaster Uģis Meņģelis for professional work.
From 25 to 26 May the Rezekne Academy of Technologies hosted the 12th International Scientific Conference “Society.Integration.Education”. The well-attended conference was organised in 17 parallel sessions where participants from 12 countries could discuss the outcomes of their research depending on the area of specialisation (paedagogy, education, psychology, health science, economics etc.).
The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) in Great Britain has a history dating back 25 years and its activity is devoted to setting standards and quality criteria for sexual and reproductive healthcare. This non-governmental organisation brings together medical practitioners from different professional backgrounds, midwifes, public health nurses, researchers and academic staff.
Rīga Stradiņš University will be hosting the 7th Baltic Otorhinolaryngology Congress 7–9 June 2018.
On the first day of the Congress, from 14:00 to 16:00, an international student conference will be held during which the participants will present their scientific projects.
The Congress is organised by the Latvian Otorhinolaryngology Society.
