The mentor workshop will teach all new mentors their tasks and responsibilities as a mentor of an international student joining RSU this autumn.
Connect with the students before they arrive and serve as a cultural bridge and an advisor to new students in their first study semester. Gget to know other cultures and establish contacts and friendships with people from different countries. The mentor workshops (Zoom) will take place on 15 and 30 June at 15:00 GMT+2.

Despite the restrictions in place due to COVID-19, we at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) have still tried to ensure a high-quality study process by making use of modern digital technologies. Unfortunately, the possibility to study on-site has been limited for 14 months now.
After graduating from high school, Signe Tomsone’s combined interests in sports and medicine led her to the University of Tartu where she became a sports medicine doctor. After returning to Latvia and continuing her studies at RSU (then – the Riga Medical Institute), Tomsone chose a career in occupational therapy.

The future Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) entered the next construction phase as a time capsule was placed into the cornerstone of the building on 19 May. The multi-storey building has a total area of 7151 m2 and is located at 21 Konsula iela. It will house modern study facilities and a world-class science centre, including a research laboratory for finished dosage forms. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). It is planned that construction will be completed in 2022.

On 19 May, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) issued a Rector’s Decree regarding how the study process will be organised in the future under the conditions of the spread of the COVID-19 infection. It outlines those categories of students and employees that will be able to participate in the study process in person, including at medical facilities, starting from 30 August 2021.
